So. Here we are sitting on my couch. Being UUBER lazy... Waning cinnamon rolls but not willing to wait for the oven to preheat, cinnamon rolls to cook & wait for cooling time. Yup. Somedays I'm beyond ridiculous!! So without budging I started thinking about what I have that gets hot fast & cooks fast! Toaster... No. Foreman...NO! Waffle Iron... GAME ON.
And this is how easy it was. Pop the can of pillsbury cinnamon rolls, once preheated spray waffle iron down with cooking spray, place one roll per quarter, close the iron(if it rotates then rotate it), wait 2-3 minutes & done! There's 8 rolls to a pack. Everything done in less than 10 minutes. They're crispy & yummy. I still have the same complaint I always have, however... NOT ENOUGH ICING!!! Not even close! If pillsbury ever does cinnamon roll marketing research... I WANT IN! This must be fixed!! (0:
Sorry some of the pictures are blurry. I was multitasking(eating & snapping pictures)

Easy Homemade Caramels...
It's not a secret that I am madly addicted to pinterest... So real quick before bed I'm going to share a pinterest find with a Rachel twist.
I have made homemade caramel before only to find that if you're not a professional weight lifter it'll kill your arm. I saw microwave caramel and that it only too 6 minutes to make and decided... I'm okay with wasting a mere 6 minutes on something new. So here's the caramel recipe
Microwave Caramel:
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup light Karo syrup
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Mix all ingredients in a microwave safe bowl(I used a glass loaf pan because all of my glass bowls are MIA).
Microwave for 6 minutes... Stirring every two. Pour into a lightly greased dish. Cool. Enjoy.
I, like always, slightly deviated. I put the molten caramel into a glass liquid measuring cup, poured it into a greased star shaped ice cube tray & put it in the freezer. Once frozen they popped out easier than ice cubes. You can stop there but that'd be too easy for me.
Next, I busted out my Velata warmer(which I sell, www.chloeado.velata.us), a bag of our premium Belgian Milk chocolate(SOOOO good & I'm not just saying that because I sell it... I'm a chocoholic!!), melted the bag (which takes at the most 22 minutes in the warmer that will NEVER SCORCH OR BURN the chocolate) and half dipped the caramels in the chocolate. They don't have a huge color pop (which I LOVE) but they are awesome!!! (0:
This recipe is sooo easy you'd be silly not to try it!!! (0:
Nighty Nite. Velata dreams too you & yours!!

You Put Cake... In A Jar?!
Oh the faces I get when people hear the words cake in a jar. In case you've never had a cake in a jar much less my cake in a jar... It's awesome. Stays moist, fresh & can last for 6 months to a year depending on what you have in the jar. Best part, it's not limited to one type of cake or even just cakes. I'll elaborate later. Bottom line is, everyone wants to know my secret to cake in a jar. I will divulge, however, some of my recipes are my recipes and I'm not quite sure how willing I am to share them just yet.
Here the story behind cake in a jar:
The leading ladies in my life... My mom, my grandma(Momo) and my Aunt(Lulu) LOVE German chocolate cake. I thought it would be an awesome surprise to send them some cake as a
Care package. Problem one... Mom lives outside of Seattle, Momo & Lulu live in Orange County, California and I live in Aiken, South Carolina. Yeah. Once Lulu mailed my mom a 13x9 cake for her birthday and well... It tasted the same. (0;
So begins my voyage into the pits of google. I came across a blog that I grew a huge liking too. Now I can't remember the name of the blog. It was ran by a soldiers wife who had a home sick soldier. She wanted to send him bits of home so she mailed him cakes and pies in a mason jar. When said soldier got the cakes and pies they were as fresh as the day she baked him helping him cope with some of his home sickness. BRILLIANT. cake in a jar. Game on. So thats where this started.
There is no HUGE secret to cake in a jar other than don't over fill your jars. You can make any cake you want, quite literally.
Here's my steps:
-I always boil my jars clean. I run them through the dishwasher first & boil any
soap off. I realize this seems OCD.
- I coat them with something to prevent sticking. My family has a great liking to butter. Much like Paula Deen does. So I melt a stick of butter and use a pastry brush and coat the insides. You can use a spray. It is personal preference.
- preheat the oven per your recipes direction. Make the cake batter per recipe as you would for any other cake
- partially fill the jars. I have tried countless methods to do this. I find in easiest to use the pour mouth (I have no idea what its really called) that comes in the jarring kit (It keep cake off of the sealing edges) and a measuring cup. Once again this is your own personal preference.
***Seems useless but is in fact USEFUL KNOWLEDGE***
Chocolate cake rises 30% less than a yellow or white cake. Keep this in mind as you fill your jars.
If you intend to ice the cakes I'd never fill them more than half way full. If its anything other than chocolate, it's safe to do about a third of a jar if not a smidge more.
- place all the jars on a cookie sheet or in a 13x9, without the lids, and bake for the amount of time your recipe calls for. Sometime it may take a few minutes less but maybe 5 minutes at the most.
-if you aren't icing put the lids and rings on shortly after you pull the jars out of the oven. In about 10-15 minutes you'll hear popping. The jars are sealing. It's what you want.
- if you are icing them with a cooked icing(ie coconut pecan frosting for German chocolate cake) or a glaze (honey bun cakes) then put the frosting on then put the lids on and you'll have the same effect.
- you can put a cool frosting on but be forewarned it will melt into the cake. If you let it cool a bit, put the frosting on and have the lids boiling before you put them on you should still achieve the popping lids when they seal.
You can also make brownies in a jar and pies in a jar. For brownies, youd bake them & put the lids on them like the cake. For pies, you line the jars with with dough(as best as possible), fill with pie filling, top with a piece of pie crust dough & cut a vent hole you cook it just like you would any other pies. (0:
There you have it. Cake(brownies or pies) in a jar. Rachel style. Sorry if it's lengthy or confusing.
The picture are of german cake in a jar(made by me), the one with white frosting was wild cherry Pepsi cake in a jar(also made by me) and the pies in a jar I found on google.

30 days...?!
I'm about to embark in a 30 self challenge that I, in ALL honesty, have no interest in doing. (0:
That being said... I'm trying the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. Pinterest, what have you gotten me into yet again? Lol. I was surfing my beloved pinterest one night and saw this girls before and after picture with the description 30 day shred. It was just a link to the picture so I googled further. I'm not a fan of Julian Michael's, not at all, but for the sake of the annoying five pound fluctuation roller coaster I can't rid myself of... Let the challenge begin. Who knows. I may even post my weight, measurements and my before & after pictures depending on how it goes. Le Sigh... Here goes nothing.

Tuesday's Mini Coupon Trip to CVS
I was getting a little stir crazy in the house(due to the rain) so BFB suggested I go shopping. Who am I to argue with that!
So, I pulled up my couponing website. Jotted a few notes down. Pulled out some coupons... Found I had a few better coupons than my couponing website(LOVE that), and away I went.
I split up my purchases and when I get to explaining drug store systems I'll explain why... For now it's too complicated.

Couponing 101. From MY Perspective.
Not all couponing needs to be or actually is extreme couponing. I taught myself how to coupon and gained some valuable insight and knowledge from that show(which should truly be a lead into hoarding, the organized version). I feel it's important for people to know that your aren't going to get thousands of groceries for pennies. Especially not in the beginning. Those people buy coupons online so even they don't get groceries for pennies.
Okay here we go...
First & foremost. DO NOT IMPULSE BUY. if you go into the store and wing it you'll buy things that are not at their lowest prices and waste not only coupons but money. Make sure you have a shopping list that is put together with your coupons. This is when I use the small accordion coupon dividers. I put coupons in there for how many I need of an item & a few extra in the back.. if the store isn't low on supply I'll buy extra. There is NO NEED TO CLEAR SHELVES.
Next, know now... BRAND LOYALTY IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. But it is with coupons that I have found other brands I like more. Yes, they print a lot of the same coupons in each circular but they also like to throw people for a loop. I've found that smart balance milk tastes fresher, lasts longer & freezes better than your average gallon of milk. Something id have NEVER figured out before. I like all laundry detergent better than my old faithful(and way more expensive) Tide. I could go on and on with examples but it's time for more tips.
SURF COUPONING WEBSITES!!! This is a must wether you're an experienced couponer or a newbie. Reason being... This is what these people do day in and day out. They make money running websites that show deals & are more inclined to catch a deal before most. My personal favorite site in www.southernsavers.com
They have my stores and a personalized printed checklist. I know not everyone lives in the southern region(like my entire family) so my other favorite is www.thekrazycouponlady.com
She lives on the west coast & covers the stores that southern savers doesn't.
Now... in order to understand these websites there are some terms & acronyms you'll need to learn. There are three coupon circulars that go out in the news papers.
They are::
Red Plum(abbreviated RP)
Smart Source(abbreviated SS)
Proctor & Gamble Brand Saver (abbreviated PG or P&G)
The RP & SS circulars come out every week. Unless Sunday is a holiday. Then there won't be any coupons. P&G come out on the first Sunday of the month. Unless the 1st is a Monday or Tuesday in which you'll get it the last Sunday of the previous month. Under each item on their pages you'll see something that looks like this::
Kraft Salad Dressing, 8 oz $1.99
Buy One Get One Free
Use $1.00/2 Kraft Dressings or Sizzling Salad Dinner Kits from SS 5/20
Final Price: $0.50 each when you buy 2 or free with double
See where it says SS 5/20? That means the $1.00 off 2 bottles of dressing($1.00/2) was from the Smart Source of the May 20th circular. This remains true for all circulars & all couponing websites.
If you see an icon next to an item (southern savers uses an acorn and The Krazy Coupon Lady uses a black & yellow triangle icon) this means the item is at its rock bottom price. That means if you can(it's available & you have the coupon) BUY. Stores run sales on the same items once every six weeks on average. So if you see the icon marking a rock bottom price you won't see it that low again for 6 weeks. That's not to say it won't sell. Just that it won't hit rock bottom.
The biggest insider tip I learned for the Extreme Couponing TV show was BOGO(buy one get one) or two for one deals. Even though an item is on sale as BOGO does NOT mean you cannot use two coupons! You are still buying 2 items! This is how I personally save the most money. Here's one of my favorite deals::
ALL Small & Mighty Laundry Detergent
Buy One, Get One $2.99
This means you get 2 laundry detergents for the price of one, right? So ALL's coupons are almost always $1.00/1. Which means if you buy 2 laundry detergents for $2.99 and use 2 of the ALL $1.00 off 1 coupons you get 2 laundry detergents for .99¢ or just under .50¢ each. That's a steal!
Next HUGE pointer. Check for in store coupons! All the grocery stores here have their own coupon system. Insider tip. You can't stack(use multiple coupons for one item) manufactures coupons BUT YOU CAN stack a manufacturers coupon(the coupons in the newspapers) & an in store coupon to double your savings. Here's an example of one I did.
Tylenol Precise Pain Creme was $7.00.
I had a coupon from the news paper for $5.00 off a Tylenol precise pain creme. Public had a coupon for a $3.00 off any one Tylenol precise pain creme. Yes, that's $8.00 off. Since these two coupons could be used together, I was essentially paid $1.00 to take the product off their hands. The stores
Will not give you the $1.00. It'll just come off of your total bill but hey..z that could be a dollar off meats, fruits, soda, etc.
ORGANIZATION IS VITAL. However, organizing to someone else's logic is detrimental. If you don't organize your coupons in a fashion that makes sense to you than you're only going to set yourself up for failure. You have to be able to not only put up your coupons but find them again when you need them!
Okay. Here's how I coupon. Each Sunday I buy one of each of our local papers(there are three)... Unless its the P&G week then I'll buy one extra. I don't see a need for any more than four papers. There's a greater chance of wasting coupons other didn't have access to. I organize my coupons in a binder. My mom bought me a binder bag for my birthday & it's fabulous! You'll see pictures below. I made my own binder dividers & sections. This may seem tedious however I've made a system. I match up each page of the circulars, staple the coupons to each other & cut. This way. All the same coupons are in piles & I don't have to worry about keeping neat little piles everywhere & hunting down matching coupons. For the first time(yesterday) I put them in small baskets in general groups to narrow it down(cleaning, food, personal care, miscellaneous, baby & cooking). I found this made breaking the coupons down & putting them away SOOO MUCH EASIER.
Here is how I have my coupons divided::
Baby
Baking
Beauty
Breads
Breakfast
Canned Goods
Cleaning Supplies
Condiments
Cooking
Drinks
Frozen
Health
Laundry
Meats
Oral Hygiene
Paper Products
Personal Hygiene
Pet
Refrigerated
Shaving
Snacks
Miscellaneous
As you'll see below, on the divider page I have it broken down into what I believe belongs in wash section. It may seem OCD but when the time comes to grab a coupon... I know exactly where to go. I've dabbled in other couponing techniques so if this is too much for you then let me know & I can explain some more.
One last thing before I bid you ado... Call your grocery store & ask if they double coupons & on what day. This can make more difference than you can imagine. Our stores double coupons daily up to .50¢ which means all .50¢ coupons are really $1.00 off coupons!! It's fabulous. Happy couponing. I hope this helps! If you have any questions let me know.

Chapstick & Firearms...
They always say you can tell a woman by the contents of her purse. I always carry a larger size purse. For I am one of those people who believe if I don't bring it, I'll need it. I'm a bag lady for this reason too. I hate it. But I can't deny it. SO, what is in my purse. Hmmm.
Front pocket... Chapstick(cherry Nivia), lip gloss(colored), nail file, glock 23 & loose change.
Main pouch... Wallet, calendar, day planner, 2 pads of paper, scentsy catalogs, velata catalogs, order forms, show polish(huh?), tacky glue(uhhhh...?!), keys, bobby pins, mascara(2 tubes), lots of pens(12 to be precise), coupons, binder clips, paper clips(which came to an amazing rescue for my broken sunglasses!), digital camera, phone charger, ziplock bag(yeah, I don't know), 2 highlighters, pack of altoids, pack of trident layers, a pencil, 2 small tubes of tooth paste, a name tag, a bottle of Tylenol pm, tampons, a sewing needle, oragel, a lighter, 4 bar keys(church keys... Whatev) & more loose change.
Lord, that's insane. I admit, for a women with no children that's probably asinine. So of it to me is just plain outrageous.
Explanation to me...?! A night time bartender/Scentsy/Velata consultant. Add in a little food & beverage director with an in ability to sit still & a love for arts & crafts. Let's not forget a need to protect myself. Yup. That sounds like me. (0;
